South Africa - A woman had the scare of her life after a cheetah she was petting during a safari suddenly turned to face her.

The visibly shaken woman took to social media to share the captivating video of her encounter with the wild animal.
The woman's leopard-print dress appeared to have startled the cheetah, which then got on its four, alert, scaring the woman.

At the start of the video, the woman was spotted gently petting the cat as it faced away from her before moving to settle under a tree's shade.
"This was just a gentle reminder that wild animals are not our friends… It almost attacked me because of my dress," she wrote.According to the Cheetah Conservation Fund, the cheetah is the world’s fastest land animal and Africa’s most endangered big cat.
Uniquely adapted for speed, the cheetah is capable of reaching speeds greater than 110 kilometres per hour in just over three seconds.
According to Quora, cheetahs can be tamed, but they cannot be domesticated.
