Glossier has a reputation for making some of Gen Z’s most beloved makeup and skincare products. As a former Glossier retail employee, I’ve learned the ins and outs of the company’s products and can now recognize what’s actually worth spending money on. With all of the brand’s TikTok buzz, it can get difficult to discern what the best Glossier products actually are.

Whether you’re a Cloud Paint fan or a Balm Dotcom loyalist, everyone has something to say about Glossier’s products. The brand has a huge fan community, and there are definitely Glossier super fans that know more about the products than I do. But having access to Glossier’s whole catalog of products has made me a lot more familiar with them, and after spending 7 months as an employee there, I now feel comfortable sharing my knowledge. 

One thing I’ve learned is there’s no shame in not loving every single Glossier product. My coworkers and I would go on long rants about how we hated each other’s favorite products—and vice versa. But the truth is everyone has different needs and wants. Not everything that works for you will work for everyone else, no matter what the Glossier Redditors say. 

In my experience, Glossier fans are very loyal to their holy grail of products. (Especially when one of those products gets reformulated.) And through testing and learning about each individual product, I’ve established my own Glossier holy grail.

  Cloud Paint is one of Glossier’s most popular products, and for good reason. Like most liquid blushes, a little goes a long way. It’s easy to get intimidated when you apply too much, so I always say to put a tiny dot and blend before you add more. Not to mention, there’s a really good shade range, so you’re sure to find one that you like. My personal favorites are Wisp, Puff, and Storm.

• Boy Brow

  Admittedly, Boy Brow is one of the first Glossier products I tried circa 2014. It goes to show how much I like it because I still use it to this day. Of course there are other good brow gels on the market. But for some reason, none of them are as satisfying as Boy Brow. Perfect to tame your brows in a pinch, without the fuss of powder or a pencil.

• Perfecting Skin Tint

  

  Perfecting Skin Tint

  If you hate how heavy foundation feels on your skin, Glossier’s Perfecting Skin Tint is a must. I love how lightweight it is—it’s perfect to even your skin tone without weighing it down. I usually use a sponge to blend it in, but your fingers will do too.

• Pro Tip

  Pro Tip is just a genuinely good felt tip eyeliner. I’ve never had issues with it drying out, and it creates the most perfect angles for winged liner. Plus, the packaging is pink—what’s not to love? If you already have a felt tip eyeliner you love, feel free to skip. Otherwise, it’s a great option for anyone looking for a new liner.

• Futuredew

  Futuredew is quite the controversial product. Fans of Futuredew constantly rave about it, while everyone else has no idea what it is. I would describe it as a face oil that’s main purpose is to give you dewy skin. I like to wear it under my Perfecting SkinTint. It can also be used under your foundation or as a standalone highlighter. On days when you don’t feel like wearing any makeup, it’s perfect for that glass skin, natural glow.

• After Baume

  If you struggle with dry skin, you need After Baume. After Baume is a moisture barrier cream that is amazing for dry and sensitive skin. I use it as a daily moisturizer, although you can use it on your body too. When I was sunburnt and my shoulders were peeling, After Baume saved my life and brought hydration back to my skin. Truly an underrated product!

• Invisible Shield

  For those of us that struggle incorporating SPF into our skincare routines, Invisible Shield is perfect. It has a gel-like consistency that doesn’t leave a white cast. Not to mention, it smells like oranges. With SPF 35, it’s ideal for being the last step in your skincare routine, right before you apply makeup.

• Super Pure

  

  Super Pure

  Super Pure is by far the only necessary product from the Glossier serum trio. With zinc and niacinamide, Super Pure is excellent at smoothing skin texture. I found that after using all three serums, Super Pure was the only one that gave me visible results. When customers would debate which serum to get, I always heavily recommended Super Pure above the others.
